boots and booties

I have green motorcycle-esque boots from last winter. They are Blowfish from DSW and I love them so much I went back and got them in black. I wore them with jeans tucked in, with tights or leggings, or just barelegged with cute little dresses (we had a pretty mild winter, plus alcohol keeps you pretty warm, ya know?) I also have nice grey Steve Madden boots with a braid up one side. The only thing missing is pretty brown boots...Or fancy black boots. Or crazy colored fun boots... Or ugly brown boots...
Frye Owen Lace Boot - UO, $298
Love love love them. I guess they might be a tad impractical, but I would love to wear these out in the fall with cute little dresses. Oh, and maybe leather jackets...

Frye Paige Cuff Boot- UO, $398
More Frye... Love the color - it's 'Slate'. I've never had boots this high... I usually stick with the ankle or mid calf height..

Canvas Cuff Boot - UO, $48

I usually stick with flat boots, so for me to get a boot with a heel, it's got to have something special going on. I like the cuff of this boot. Oh, and the price.

C2 Dragon Boot - UO, $114.99 (on sale)

Now this one just looks neat. I guess you couldn't really do jeans tucked in, but it would look cool with tights, no?

Frye Paige Canvas Boot - UO, $149.99

They have this boot in black too, but I think the brown looks much prettier. This would be a great casual boot, with tucked in jeans, flowy blouse, giant sweater... This one is definitely a contender...

Angles Motor Boot - Free People, $298

Love it when the boots come with dirt already on them. Saves me the trouble of stomping around in the mud to get that worn in 'yeah, I walk in dirt, so what?' look.

Marc by MJ High Heel Belted Bootie - Shopbop, $695

I honestly have no idea why I want these booties so bad. They have a heel. They're freaking purple. But... Marc makes girls do crazy things.

Some more reasonable, although probably more uncomfortable, options.American Eagle Maddie Ankle Boot - Payless, $37.99

American Eagle Riley Slouch Boot - Payless, $39.99

I like this one a lot. Good job, payless.

DV by Dolce Vita Jordon Boot - Nordstroms, $179.95

This one reminds me of a kinder, gentler version of those crazy Balenciaga boots the Olsen's wore. And you know how I feel about anything even close to something MK would wear....

And here is where I get a little crazy with the price tags. But they're oh so pretty, aren't they?

Miu Miu Strappy Bootie - NeimanMarcus, $790

Wow, I hope grey is as big of a color this fall/winter as it was last... Love it!

Chloe Strap Wrap Open Toe Boots - Intermix, $895

Mmm I love everything about these boots, even the heel. Someday, I will own Chloe shoes... someday...

Peace and boots for everyone!,

photoshoot

Get ready for a lot of fairly meaningless pictures....

So tonight I served wine and beer at a kegger in a Catholic grade school gym. I know this sounds strange and hard to believe so I took pictures:

Kegs (Yungling and Coors Light)

Gym ceiling pics (pretty artsy, no?)

Balloons!! Posters!! Blessings!!

My ultra fashionable father. I like to dress him like a 20 year old frat boy.

Before the party started I passed the time by taking pictures of my lovely feet and adorable new sandals!! And my pretty flower skirt!!!

Some cemetery pictures on the way out.

I found my $3.50 F21 sunglasses like this when I got into my car this morning. Tragic. But they do make for some pretty funny pictures.

For example:

My little sister was very sad to find the glasses broken...

And my first attempt at outfit pics...

High waist flower skirt and sleeveless white shirt, Anthropologie. Teal suede fringe bag, Urban Outfitters. Sandals, Marc by MJ.

Clearly I have to work on my self portraits. The camera was being all fuzzy and unfocused no matter what setting I put it on so that was really annoying... Help!

Peace and random pictures,

TheFashionHead

what a disaster

Last night after work I met Court at King of Prussia for the Bloomingdale's sale. I got there a little early, so I hit up Urban Outfitters which was my first mistake. I tried on a bunch of things but nothing really stood out (probably because I already own like all of the Lux dresses...). I did think this dress was pretty adorable:

But unfortunately it wasn't $118 adorable. I do love the color though. And the buttons. And the neckline. OH GOOD GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?

I have successfully avoided the graphic tee's from Urban. They are cute and sure, sometimes they say funny things about peace and Obama, but I never found one that seemed worth the rather steep price. Until last night...

How could I resist? I know real dead heads would probably make fun of me for buying a shirt from Urban, but hopefully real dead heads don't shop at Urban and won't know...

I also picked up a really pretty teal suede shoulder bag with a ton of fringe. It is such a beautiful teal color. Can't find a picture of it anywhere... (But we did get the damaged camera back and it's all better so maybe I'll actually start to use it...)

Thank goodness Courtney showed up because I was going a little crazy with the pre-shopping. We headed over to Bloomingdale's. I tried on a bunch of things, mostly dresses, and I wasn't too impressed. I did love and end up getting this beautiful French Connection ombre halter dress:

It's called the Pretty Grunge Halter Dress, which is adorable. And those bows!!

I really wanted this Free People dress I saw some adorable girl wearing at the Bike Race on Sunday. They have it in white and red, and in the store they only had the white in my size. The white was a tad see through so I decided to just order the red online when I got home. We went upstairs to the shoe department. I found these adorable Marc by Marc Jacobs sandals but they were waaay out of my price range so I didn't even bother trying them on. The promotional sale was 25% off when you buy two pairs, and since Court was trying on an adorable pair of Aqua wedges, I figured what the heck, I'll just try them on. Well. They. Were. Adorable. As expected. I figured out the price with the discount and my coupons and decided to go for it. Well, they were apparently on sale before the discount and coupons were figured it, and they ended up being about 70% off. I don't know why these silly Bloomingdale's people don't advertise their sales better. I'm sure way more people would try on and buy these shoes if they knew they were on CRAZY sale. It's like Bloomingdale's is just trying to see how serious you are about shoes. Like if you're willing to spend the actual price, you must be pretty committed to looking adorable and fashionable so surprise!! Here is an extremely awesome discount!!

I went on Bloomingdale's website after I got home to look for the dress. It's adorable so I decided to order it in the color I wanted. Here is it:

The website was also having a sale, score, so I decided to seize the opportunity and get the Foley and Corrina Mid City tote in light brown. I'm tired of finding pictures, and I'm sure everyone and their mother knows what the bag looks like. I'm so excited!

Peace and pretty grungy-ness,

everyone loves a sale

Plus, it gives me something pretty to look at on my lunch break...

I only checked out the 30% off stuff (so far) but there were a few winners:

Here is the Seven Jean Roxanne Crop. They're black, if you couldn't tell. I'm not sure what drew me to them... I'm not usually a black cropped pant kinda gal. But I can see how they would become useful in the summer if I ever got tired of wearing dresses (however unlikely that is).

They are down from $170 to $120.40. But then of course I would need black summer wedges, which I really don't have time or money for... Not to mention shirts to wear with them, seeing as how my closet consists mainly of dresses. It's like giving a mouse a cookie.

(ps - Don't her shoes looks extremely painful? Her poor toes look so squished...)

And here we have the Airliner Jacquard Magazine Clutch from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

I saw this clutch awhile ago and I really like it. I don't really like blatant advertising on my purses but you can't really tell it says Marc Jacobs all over it until you get up pretty close...So I would just have to keep my distance from, well, everyone in order to maintain my mysterious-I-don't-care-for-name-brands exterior.

But it's so pretty and sophisticated. I am seriously considering jumping on the giant clutch bandwagon (anything that's good enough for MK is good enough for me).

A lot of cute shoes, and since I don't feel like importing any more pictures (it's semi challenging and annoying to get them to look how you want), I'll just link to them. In a neat little list.

1. Paul & Joe Libra Multi Wedge Sandal (7 of 10)

2. Marc by MJ Banded Multicolor Sandal (9 of 10)
And yes these are the same ones I've mentioned about a million times, I should probably just shut up and buy them

3. Tashkent by Cheyenne Sanchez Metallic Linen Sandal (10 of 10)
Perfection in shoe form

Finally, the most reasonable/likely purchase of the bunch. This adorable little white dress is the Caitlin Short Sleeve Dress by Velvet. Originally $108, now on sale for $75.60. It's a cute shape and I loooove the back. I would be kinda nervous about the length. It says it's 33" long, whatever that means. It looks quite short on that model but of course she probably has a good 5" on me (hey, if it was too short maybe I could wear it with those black Seven crop pants... no, no, no, I'm just going through sale disillusionment..) Plus, it has pockets!

Courtney, when you buy this, you should totally tell everyone it's real vintage and you found it for like 35 cents at some Salvation Army.

There is a lot of wintery stuff, a ton of grey, wool, long sleeves, silk... Stuff that would have been perfection about 3 months ago, but I guess that's why it's a sale...

Peace and black cropped pants (should I get them?),

fashionable duffel bags

It's getting down to shore house crunch time and I am in desperate need of a GIANT weekender/duffel bag to take with me every weekend. I am sick of carrying 2 smallish tote bags plus a giant purse on every weekend adventure I embark on. You would be surprised at how challenging it is to find cute duffel bags that are large enough to hold everything I need and that aren't LeSportSac. I don't *really* have anything against LeSportSac, it's quite the opposite really. I found this amazing tattoo inspired print (anyone know what I'm talking about?) at Bloomingdales on some of their smaller bag varieties. I believe it was called Ink. But Bloomingdales doesn't carry the extra large weekender (or any weekender version) so I searched and searched online to no avail. The LeSportSac website didn't offer the print and I couldn't find it anywhere. It was like the mystery print. So ever since then I haven't been able to find a print I liked as much. Some of them on the website are alright, but they're not the Ink. Sigh. But it seems as if LeSportSac has the monopoly on cute duffel bags because I haven't been able to find many other versions.
Most of the bags under Shopbop's weekender category just look like tote bags to me. I don't know what kind of people can fit a weekend's worth of stuff into a tote bag, but they are definitely not the same kind of people who religiously visit Shopbop. Anyway, here is my favorite of the weekend bag category:
(picture from shopbop.com)

It's the Distinguished Dot Duffel from Marc by Marc Jacobs. It measures 10" x 18" x 7". Seems too small. But it is marked down to $156.60 from $228....

Sadly, that's the only bag I've found that I've really liked and it's too small. Anyone know where to find a extremely large extremely fashionable duffel bag? Bonus if it's not LeSportSac. Double extra mega bonus if it's IS LeSportSac but it's the Ink....

PS - Remember those weird looking green platform sandals I told you to not buy the other day? Well they're on the front page of shopbop today scaring customers away from their spring/summer shoe purchases.

Peace and fun filled weekends,

summer sandals

Yesterday while putting away some clean laundry, I realized that I have 16 single socks, all different, all without a mate. 16!!! That's a crazy person number. And I've had them for awhile now, just hanging out in the right hand of my sock drawer, hoping one day they will be reunited with their match (or that the mismatch sock trend will suddenly catch on again). So new goal: throw away allll of my lonely little socks and treat myself to brand new ones. I'll have to schedule a Target trip for sometime in the near future.

Oh god, I just wrote about sock drawer. I've just lost what little audience I had.

Let me try to win you back with some pretty shoe pictures. Like I've said before, I've always wanted to be one of those girls who wears high heels all the time, never complains about hurting feet, and looks fabulous at all times. When summer comes along, I get excited because my ultra comfortable rainbows go with practically every outfit, and even if they don't, who cares because it's summertime and the livings easy. (Yeah, I did just write that) But this summer is going to be different. It all started with those fabulous DKNY wedges. I am determined to wear heels as much as humanly possible.

(picture from shopbop.com)

This beautiful shoe is the Gala Woven Crisscross Sandal from one other then L.A.M.B. Why do you make such gorgeous and expensive shoes? I love the metallic. And the braiding. It looks way vintage which is pretty cool.

(picture from shopbop.com)

And here we have the Draped Patent Wishbone Sandal from Moschino Cheap and Chic. Their shoes are, unfortunately, not cheap at all. I don't really love the color (I'm always thinking about tattoo color clashing though so that could have something to do with it.) But the shape is really neat and unique and quite adorable. Also vintage-y.

(picture from shopbop.com)

Here is the Tab Wedge Sandal by Pollini. Holy crap, these shoes are $710! But they are adorable. These are the kind of shoes that you would look at and look at and finally decide to buy and then never be able to find the right outfit to wear them with. Although brown is just a neutral and yellow is the accessory color of the season....

Oh and these Marc Jacobs wedge sandals I mentioned before are now on sale at the bop for $266.

(picutre from shopbop.com)

Just something to think about...

And of course, a few high heeled sandals you should never, ever buy:

Black and blue together, yuck. Not only are they pretty unattractive, but they also look pretty uncomfortable...

Ahh! Too many straps! Too many buckles! Sweaty feet.

Reminds me of the matrix. And I've never even seen the matrix.

Who has the nerve to charge $350 for these foot atrocities? Well, Opening Ceremony, I guess.

And I'll end with these:

$425!!!!!! People are crazy...
Peace and summer sandals,

TheFashionHead

if i had a million dollars...

Here is what I would buy:

Peace Leather Wrap Bracelet - Accessories and Beyond
$176 (picture from shopbop.com)

What a beautiful bracelet. And who doesn't totally love peace? And who doesn't love everyone else knowing that they totally love peace?

Marysia Clutch - Botkier
$395 (picture from shopbop.com)

I love the crisscross leather detail cause it's not absolutely perfect. Plus I've been on a 'white bag for summer' mission.

Blossom Print Tie Neck Halter Top - Catherine Malandrino
$395 (picture from shopbop.com)

Flowery top = beautiful. Yellow pants = bold.
Why do I always fall in love with shirts that do not allow the wearer to wear a bra?? Sad face (sad boobs, actually.)

Mid City Tote - Foley + Corrinna
$444 (picture from shopbop.com)

This color is pretty and unique. I love the shape of the bag and its versatility (carried as shown by the handles or it can be folded over in half and carried with the shoulder strap to create a different look.)

Charlye Pull On Boot - Golden Goose
$1050 (seriously?) (picture from shopbop.com)

Is that actual mud on the heel? Gee I hope it's included in the price! For reals, something about these boots makes me realllly want them. I think I like things that already look destroyed so then I won't worry about destroying them myself..

Runway Angel Dress
Runway Angel Dress - Missoni
$2,390 (picture from neimanmarcus.com)

Love the blue and teal strip contract on the classic Missoni print. It kinda reminds me of one of those giant hippie sweater you get at Habitat. I like.
Glazed Love Treviso Clutch
Glazed Love Treviso Clutch - L.A.M.B.
$525 (picture from neimanmarcus.com)

Oh Gwen, why is your stuff so expensive? I like that this clutch has a handle, so unlike typical annoying clutches that you will want to throw on the ground in the middle of the night instead of carrying it under your arm one more second, this one might be a little easier cause you can carry it with your hand.

Ibiza Tie-Dye Dress - C&C California
$178 (picture from shopbop.com)

I. Like. Absolutely. Anything. Tie. Dye.

True Religion Serena Woven Leather Hobo

Serena Woven Leather Hobo - True Religion
$458 (picture from shopbop.com)

True Religion? Seriously? You make something other then jeans? Perfect white summer hobo. Love the little beads.

Elizabeth & James Fringed Jacket & Stirrup Leggings
This whole outfit (minus the shoes, probably)
Fringed Jacket - Elizabeth & James
$775
Stirrup Leggings - Elizabeth & James
$220
(picture from neimanmarcus.com)

I have such an odd obsession with these stirrup pants..... Well it's not THAT odd, I guess considering they're adorable and unique and made by Mary Kate.

Turnlock Teri Tote - Marc by Marc Jacobs
$428 (picture from shoppingismycardio.com)

Love, love, love the color. Duh. It also looks like it would be easy to clean (I spill alot).

Banded Multicolor Sandal - Marc by Marc Jacobs
$380 (picture from shopbop.com)

Navy = Color of the summer. It looks great with bright green and now, red too. Navy, you are amazing. And who ever thought chunky heels would be back?

Paparazzi Dress - Yaya Aflalo
$555 (picture from shopbop.com)

I can't imagine a place or time when I would ever wear something like this but gosh isn't it so pretty?

Slip-Off Top - VPL
$245 (picture from shopbop.com)

Sexy, sexy. I would buy this and give it to one of my friends who could ...ahem, go braless.

Square Neck Pleated Dress - Vera Wang Lavender Label
$495 (picture from shobop.com)

A spring wedding. And yes, I'm grossed out a wedding is the first event I though of. But it screams classy wedding guest, does it not? Maybe dress it down with a navy cardigan?

Patent Fernanda Gladiator Sandle - Modern Vintage
$225 (picture from shopbop.com)

...channeling Mary Kate...

Mallorca Raffia Double Sole Wedge - Jean-Michel Cazabat
$365 (picture from shopbop.com)

For the ultra rich hippie.

All this and I didn't even break $10,000. I'm pumped that most of the things on my list are summery. It means that it's getting closer. Hope you enjoyed the pretty pictures!

Summer, hurry up.

Peace and fantasy shopping trips,

TheFashionHead
