The weather forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday said its supposed to be mid 60's. Mid 60's! As if I needed more reminders of spring, as if the resort stuff out and the spring previews weren't enough. I got a 15% Bloomingdales coup in the mail today (my paycheck will get here just in time) so I've decided to do a little 'Yo quiero' for spring post. Mostly, I am really desiring the the entire Tory Burch shoe collection. Somehow I have managed to narrow it down to only two pairs. First I choose the classic Reva nappa leather ballet flat in Grass Green (shown on left). I absolutely love the color and I think it looks great with the gold logo. I think it's such a fun spring shoe option. I already own the Reva patent leather ballet flat in black with the black logo which are great for going out/dressing up an outfit but I am feeling the need for a more colorful/less shiny version. Second, I've actually wanted the patent Thora thong (right) for quite some time now but I haven't found a place in my budget for sandles just yet. I'm leaning towards the white just so I could wear them constantly and never ever take them off my feet but they too have some great color options.

I think white jeans try to come back in style each spring/summer. This year I think I am going to choose to embrace them. Well, maybe not ALL of them. But I definitely enjoy this pair from True Religion. There are just so many things about this pant that I love; the yellow stitching, the wide leg, the big hem. They make it look really comfortable and casual. I can see myself wearing them a lot down the shore this summer with flip flops and nice flowy summery shirts. And they're only $172 on shopbop.com which is a surprisingly low price for True Relig's.

Spring makes me think of summer and summer makes me thing of the shore and the shore makes me think of bathing suits and bathing suits make me think of HOLY CRAP BATHING SUITS. So I'm going to end this quiero post and head over to the gym.

getting schooled/updates

So I've been toying with the idea of going back to school for fashion marketing. I can't decide if I would rather have a boring job, lots of money, and fantastic clothes OR take a (significant) pay cut, and get more involved in the fashion industry. I went to an open house at the Art Institute of Philadelphia this afternoon for their fashion marketing program. Readers let me tell you, these classes sound fantastic. I get excited just reading their descriptions (much more then I ever felt towards any of my advanced physics or electromagnetic classes). Intro to Retailing discusses consumer behavior, store locations and operations, and retail strategy. There's a class called fashion show production! You study merchandising, buying, business, and marketing as it relates to fashion. I was hoping to keep my day job and take a few night courses to see how it goes but unfortunately they do not offer many night options. So this plan is being put on the back burner until I decide it is really something I would like to pursue and start saving money for it.

As for my little website I have enrolled two of my friends to become contributing editors in hopes of making the site more well rounded and you won't be subjected to my sometimes odd but always fashionable choices. Courtney is planning on doing a resort wear (highly nautical) column in the near future and Emily buys new fantastic things every day with her mad crazy discounts (she works for the hallowed Anthropologie) so I'm sure she'll have fun stuff to write about soon.

shopping extravaganza

So my fashion fast has FINALLY ended and yesterday I spent the majority of the day shopping. I met some of my college ladies at King of Prussia and let's just say it was a very successful trip. This new stuff from Juicy not only has a nautical theme (love) but also beautiful colors, mainly green, yellow, and blue (love love). I picked up this lovely printed jersey A-Line in green (shown here in blue; much cuter in green if you ask me...). It's definitely not a cold weather outfit but it makes me so excited for the spring and summer!!

Check out these hot sexy black heels from Steven by Steve Madden. I saw these and I knew immediately I would have to have them. I actually wore them out this weekend with my skinny jeans and my teal Betsey Johnson polka dot flowy dress thingy. They were about as comfortable as heel that high can be. You're pretty strapped in there so they were easy to walk in and I only almost fell twice (a record for me, I tend to fall alot. )

At the end of the day we left the mall to hit up Antropologie (my new favorite store). They have a whole freaking collection of nautical themed clothing which I love. I had originally planned on getting this red Coxswain cardigan. It's pretty adorable with little anchors all over it and a large blue anchor on the front, but it's a tad bold and expensive for everyday wear.

Instead I went with the more shall I say understated Aye Aye Cartigan with sailboats all over it. I like it because its a little longer and baggier and much softer (ahhh...) not to mention a tad cheaper then the Coxswain.

So it was pretty successful. I also made some other fashion decisions: 1. I tried on the Ed Hardy 'Love Kills Slowly' sunglasses at Nordstrom and LOVED them so I have decided to buy them with my next paycheck. What I have no decided is to get them in black or brown. Since they are so bold, I will also need another pair of sunglasses for everyday wear and those will be either in black or brown (whichever color I don't pick for the Hardy's obv). 2. I found this gorgeous Via Spiga brown tweed coat at Loehmans for about a million percent off the orignal price but for some reason I did not immediatly buy it. Still can't figure that one out but it was for the best since we had our first shore payment due today. Still thinking about going back and picking that up (after the next paycheck, of course.) 3. I need to stop buying so many beautiful things...

How adorable is this Thorn beer tab necklace? I really miss being in college and this necklace definitely remind me of it. It's a neat way to make something trashy and fun look elegant (well, at least in my slightly strange opinion).

What I do not enjoy is the $231 price tag (on sale for $115 at shopbop but still a tad pricy for me). I'm all about buying expensive things but usually clothes, purses, and shoes take precedence over jewelry so I really don't end up with much $$ leftover for jewelry. So while I am on my self imposed no spending weekend I am going to head over to the craft store to pick up some necklace chains and silver or maybe gold spray paint to construct my own. If they turn out well I plan on making them for my college ladies at our upcoming reunion in Chicago (the main reason behind my budget cut). So I'll post pics of my version of this fabulous necklace once I get some time to make them.

So at work today I got a text from my friend Emily telling me about some fabulous items at Nordstrom Rack, the discount version of the fab department store. I decided to stop by on the way home. I had banned myself from spending money this weekend so good thing it's only Thursday.

They had some pretty good stuff, I tried on some True Religion and Joe's jeans but I decided against it. I had a lovely grey Juicy cardigan in my hands while I was checking out the bag selection. Not much there except for this adorable bag from Kooba. I had always shied away from this brand before because I thought the name was a tad silly (not to mention it's a little out of my price range). So when I saw the price tag was almost 75% off the original $675, I ditched the cardigan pretty quickly. Here is a picture of the bag. I had to leave mine out in the car so my parents wouldn't know that I was shopping and I have to admit it's even more gorgeous then I remember from a few hours ago.



It's the embossed python Paige bag. Adorable.
